San Francisco Electrician

I am convinced that no one can predict the economy in San Francisco. I read about San Francisco being in a death spiral one minute and then San Francisco needing to add 82,000 new homes in eight years per State mandate or risk losing resources. Which is it? Or maybe these two are not mutually exclusive, I don’t know.

Being that I am a San Francisco electrician, I am very interested in local construction projects. The state of construction in San Francisco is a common topic of conversation among my colleagues and a source of anxiety for us as well. For us that work in construction, we are too familiar with the concept of feast or famine.

There are many factors that affect the number of current projects in San Francisco such as the permitting process, cost of labor, NIMBY opposition, and below market rate affordable housing requirements. These forces and more not mentioned, play a role in the amount of construction in San Francisco.

Today as I travel through the city and see electrical contractors providing services to single family homes, multifamily buildings, businesses and building new structures downtown; I feel optimistic and accept that these are signs of a good local economy. I see a bright future ahead for San Francisco electricians (no pun intended).

It seems like the United States and the world are moving towards a more electric and sustainable society. As an electrician in a technological and innovative leading city, opportunities abound.

To all my brothers and sisters bending pipe, pulling wire, and doing their part in keeping the lights on, stay safe.
